  18.  Program information
  19.  -------------------
  20.  akMPEG is a program that has been designed to play MPEG animations
  21.  on CyberGfx or compatible systems with a 68040 or greater CPU.
  22.  
  23.  It allows two ways to replay animations:
  24.  
  25.    - in an overlay window on any kind of CyberGfx screen
  26.      (requires cgxvideo.library and a graphics card capable of Overlay)
  27.  
  28.    - in a normal window on any kind of a 16/24 bit deep CyberGfx screen
  29.  
  30.  Please note, that conventional 8 bit screen displays (CyberGfx or AGA)
  31.  are not supported due to speed reasons (the window will stay empty).

  33.  With a 68040-25 CPU (on a CyberStormPPC/III) with quite some FAST RAM
  34.  one may achieve ~7 FPS in Overlay mode (measured with CyberVision3D)
  35.  and ~4 FPS in window mode. A 68060-50 or -66 may allow for realtime
  36.  playing (although this has not been evaluated).

  38.  The GUI is quite self-explaining:
  39.  
  40.     - PPC support can be switched on or off (when available)
  41.     - B- and P-Frames may be skipped (default is "do not skip")
  42.     - Overlay or 24 bit display is possible
  43.  
  44.  The MPEG players are external programs, that are run
  45.  asynchroneously. So it is possible to play more than
  46.  one animation at once.
  47.  
  48.  One may also start the two tools "mpOV" (overlay)
  49.  and "mp24" (24 bit window) from Shell. The syntax
  50.  can be requested by starting with "?" as the only
  51.  parameter. It's the same for both programs:
  52.  
  53.      MP [-nop -nob] animfile.MPG
  54.  
  55.  That's it :-)

  57.  BTW: In the unregistered version, MPEGs show vertical stripes.
